FAQs

1. What is your business at Holidays from Prestwick? We are an independent holiday finder and booking service working to find the best possible deals for our customers. We do not receive commission from any tour operator and we will not try to sell you a holiday from a specific provider. We will extensively search and negotiate with all tour operators, agents, suppliers and airlines to make travel arrangements that meet your exact requirements at an extremely low price.

2. Are you only able to book holidays flying from Prestwick Airport? No. We can find and book your bargain holiday from any airport that suits you to any destination in the world. Just let us know what your requirements are by filling out the enquiry form or by calling our hotline. Most of the existing deals advertised on the site depart from either Prestwick Airport or Glasgow Airport as we are based in this area and these are the airports of choice for most of our customers.

3. What are the fees for the services you provide? The prices that we quote include a £20 per adult booking fee. We do not charge a booking fee for children. We do not charge you anything for carrying out your personalised holiday search. The fee is payable only as part of the overall cost of your holiday at the time of booking.

4. How does the booking process work? When you instruct us to make a holiday booking for you, we will collect all the details required over the telephone and make the necessary reservations. We will then send you all your travel documents and any additional instructions such as check-in details.

5. How soon after booking will I receive my travel documents? If you choose to receive your travel documents by email, you should receive them within 36 hours. If you want them to be sent by post this will normally take 3-5 days. Where postal service is required a £3 charge will be added to your booking to cover costs incurred.

6. How will my account be debited? The card you provide for booking will be charged with the relevant amounts as the reservations and payments associated with your holiday are made. This means that you will see several transactions on your account. Please rest assured that the total amount debited will not exceed the price that you have been quoted for your holiday.

7. Will you store any of my personal details? We will store only your name, email address and telephone number so that we can contact you about your booking. We may occasionally contact you by email in the future with deals and information that we consider to be of interest to you. If you don’t want us to do this just let us know.

8. Will you ever pass my details to any third parties? We will only use your details to make secured reservations with reputable suppliers and providers. We will never supply any of your personal details to third parties for marketing or solicitation.

9. What is included in the prices advertised as HOT DEALS? The Advertised prices include: flights+luggage, accommodation, transfer and booking fee. Most travel agents advertise prices that do not include luggage, transfers and other fees which means that the true cost of the holiday is normally much higher than you first thought. At Holidays from Prestwick the price you see really is the price you pay!

10. How much luggage is included in the price you have quoted? Most of our advertised deals include one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 10 kilos for each passenger aged 2 and over, plus 1 checked bag (weighing either 15 or 20 kilos) for each adult passenger (16+). When calculating your holiday cost we try to determine how much luggage is required by considering factors such as the length of the trip and who is travelling. This helps us to estimate how much luggage you need to take with you, while keeping your costs down. You are able to book more or less luggage if you wish which will of course either increase or decrease the overall cost of your holiday. If we are carrying out a personalised holiday search for you we will ask about your luggage requirements.

In all cases luggage requirements will be confirmed with you prior to booking.

11. Is an in-flight meal included in the price of my holiday? In-flight meals are not included unless otherwise stated, however we may be able to arrange this for an additional fee set by the airline. Some airlines do not offer this service but normally provide food for purchase on board should you require it.

12. Do you only use ABTA and ATOL bonded travel providers? All of the travel suppliers and providers that we use are either ABTA or ATOL bonded with the exception of some airlines who are not ATOL bonded as it is very common for airlines not to be ATOL bonded. In the unlikely event that your ABTA/ATOL bonded travel supplier goes bust you will be entitled to a refund through an insurance scheme set up to protect travellers. Good travel insurance (which we are able to supply) and using credit cards for booking can also provide further protection.

13. What are my rights if my flights are delayed or cancelled? Airlines are bound by European Law to provide refunds or alternative flights, compensation where applicable, and have a legal duty to provide you with food and accommodation should your flights be cancelled or delayed. Again, good travel insurance (which we are able to supply) and credit cards also provide you with further financial protection.

14. Why should I request the travel insurance advertised by Holidays From Prestwick? We have carefully selected a high level of travel insurance cover for our customers which offers excellent accident, medical and baggage cover; insolvency protection and Ash Cloud Cover- something that many insurers do not offer! This standard of protection provides peace of mind to our customers. Details and prices are given on the Insurance page. Prices quoted include the cost of the policy and a £5 booking fee.
